Artist's Statement....

Life for me has always been replete with art. Studying art has been the thread that has woven my creative life. As a young student, I was able to study with a gifted artist. Later, painting became the major concentration of my initial college studies.

Today, I choose to work exclusively in the pastel medium. Pastel is a pure pigment. All top quality pastel brands are permanent when applied to a conservation ground and properly framed. Pastels from the 16th century exist today as fresh as the day they were painted! Pastels may be combined with watercolor, gouache, acrylic, charcoal, or pencil in a mixed media painting. No other medium has the same color power. Pastel paintings reflect light like a prism.

Nature is my inspiration. I prefer the impressionistic style of painting. My work consists of simplistic compositions reflecting the power of beauty in landscapes, architecture and color.
